Things to do in Galena, Ohio

  • Blackhawk Golf Club. The beautiful, rolling 18-hole course is one of central Ohio’s finest and most popular courses. The wooded par 71 championship layout was designed by Jack Kidwell in 1964.
  • Mudflats Bar and Grill. Offering high-end pub grub and a nice variety of libations, if you haven’t been there, I highly recommend going. Featuring live entertainment and a friendly atmosphere gives Mudflats two thumbs up!
  • Galena Diner. This classic small-town diner sits next door to Mudflats. The menu features home cooked meals with all-you-can-eat fish Friday’s. Choices are lake perch or walleye. Not to be missed is their famous broasted chicken.
  • Alum Creek Dam is part of the flood control plan for the Ohio River basin. Construction of the dam was authorized by the United States Congress as part of the Flood Control Act of 1962. Dam construction began in 1970 and was completed in 1974 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
The Dam is in Delaware County and its construction created Alum Creek Lake.
